Planning and Development

Objectives

To assist in the formulation of educational policies through the provision of timely and relevant information; formulate and integrate educational plans, programmes and projects in accordance with educational policies, and to evaluate the performance of the Ministry’s projects and programmes in the pursuit of its educational goals.

Programme Monitoring and Evaluation

To monitor and evaluate programmes/projects of the MOEYC

To define, collect, analyse and report useful information about a programme to enhance decision-making and programme improvement.

Policy Analysis, Research and MIS

To provide accurate, relevant and timely information for monitoring the system and for effective policy decisions.

To determine the Ministry’s technological needs and develop and maintain an efficient Management Informatiob System (MIS) to address the needs to sustain informed management decisions.

Corporate Plan

To co-ordinate the preparation of the annual Corporate Plan.

To monitor and evaluate the implementation and performance of programmes and projects in the corporate plan through quarterly reports and meetings.

Educational Planning

To diagnose the education system in order to identify the educational needs to develop strategies to satisfy these needs.

To prepare project profiles and proposals to attract international funding to assist in satisfying the needs of the education system.

To facilitate school location planning by regularly updating the school map through the use of the Geographical Information System (GIS).

To respond to local and international demand for information on the education system.
