Primary Education Support Project

The Primary Education Support Programme (PESP) is jointly funded by the GOJ/IDB; total funding for the programme is US$39.5M with the IDB contributing US$31.5M and the GOJ contributing US$8M. This is the IDB’s third financial programme aimed at improvement in education at primary and all age level. The PESP is intended to give support to developments initiated under PEIP I and II so as to ensure the sustainability of the gains made in primary education in Jamaica.

Technical & Vocational Unit

The Technical and Vocational Education Unit was formally established in 1975. This was influenced by the “Education Sector Survey” (1973), which recommended the implementation of “Student Counselling and Vocational Guidance Programmes.”
